socialmediaSocial media engagement can easily be maximized by strategically scheduling posting days and times. Posting at the right time is critically important to ensure your content and messages are reaching your audience. The more your followers interact with the post -- such as likes, comments and shares -- the more you will maximize the reach of your content. Understanding when your audience is active on different social platforms is extremely important. Posting when more people are online will greatly increase how many people view the content, which will help you rise above the noise and ultimately expand your social media reach.

After monitoring and researching social updates worldwide, Blog2Social, a social media automation company, created a guideline for the best times to post on major social platforms. Their research addressed how many times to post per day as well as the best time of day to post. Based on their research, Blog2Social developed recommendations for a social media posting schedule. It is most effective to post earlier in the day on Twitter and LinkedIn, whereas for Facebook and Instagram, more people will see your content when you post later in the day. Google My Business posts should be once a week, either first thing in the morning or later at night between the hours of 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. For Instagram and Google My Business, Blog2Social recommends posting at the beginning or end of the week and it is best to post in the middle of the week for LinkedIn. Twitter posts receive the most engagement on any weekday, whereas Facebook has the most engagement towards the end of the week and on weekends. Across the board, Thursdays are the best days to post on any platform.

When planning for 2021, you can increase content effectiveness by creating a social media posting schedule for your content. Since social networking is very important and prevalent today, using a posting schedule can be a beneficial way to maximize the reach and engagement of your social media content.
